bells in the wilds

I keep whining that my dream of working in a US National Park for a summer can't come true because none of the parks have carillons, except Death Valley at Scotty's Castle, which also boasts a theater organ. The carillon doesn't seem accessible, though.

So here is an interesting case: Luray Caverns in Virginia. A "stalacpipe" organ and a "Singing Tower" carillon. Hmmm.

ack!! when i was visiting new haven in may, i drove past the luray caverns, complete with stalacpipe, THREE TIMES. three times, and not once did i deign to visit said stalacpipe! tiff, if you were a spelunker carillonista, i think the universe would be pretty much complete.

also, hi! and thank you for my birthday card! it was in dutch, and therefore i loved it all the more. now i will read the past three months of your blog that i've missed out on... oh man. hi!

k!! i miss hearing from you. i can hear your voice perfectly even through blogger comments (unless it's really the voice in my head). and what mischief are you making nowadays? it's too bad we missed each other in new haven by a month! i'll be in rochester next year... any plans to visit your past in lovely temperate upstate new york? ;)
